1960 356B Super 90 Roadster
This final iteration of Porsche's Speedster brought the bids

Introduced for the 1960 model year, the Porsche 356B Roadster marked the final evolution of the Speedster lineage, replacing the one-year-only Convertible D. Built on the T5 platform, the Roadster combined a more refined driving experience with purposeful styling updates such as raised fenders, elevated bumpers with vertical guards, and brake-cooling intakes integrated into the lower nose. Like the Convertible D, it offered roll-up windows, fixed coupe-style seats, and a sturdier convertible top with a wraparound rear window—making it far more livable than the original Speedster, while retaining its removable windshield and competition-ready spirit.
This 1960 356B Super 90 Roadster came from the factory finished in Silver Metallic and underwent a refurbishment in the late 2010s, including a repaint in its original color along with reupholstery in Light Brown leather with a matching Brown convertible top. It featured Porsche’s more performance-oriented engine option, positioned just below the more exotic Carrera variants, with engine work completed on the car including a carburetor overhaul in 2024 along with a new starter and battery in 2025. Compression tests were available in the gallery along with a couple receipts for service.
Over the last twelve months T5 356B Roadsters have averaged $172,700 with a low of $110,000 and a high of $291,000 for a White over Red Wilhoit-modified example sold at Gooding’s Monterey sale last year. Our Spotlight car failed to sell at a final bid of $216,000, and while this was a nice numbers-matching example with the higher-hp engine option, it showed a bit of wear since the restoration. All the money, in my opinion.
