1963 356B Coupe
They're only original once

The 1963 356B, known as the T6, brought a series of meaningful refinements over the earlier T5 cars, both visually and mechanically. Most notably, it introduced the twin-engine grille design on the rear decklid, improving cooling, along with a larger rear window for better visibility. Up front, the fuel tank was repositioned to allow for a flatter trunk floor and increased luggage space. Subtle updates to the bodywork and interior improved usability, while the driving experience remained true to the lightweight, well-balanced character that defined the 356.
This 1963 356B Coupe came finished from the factory in Oslo Blue and retains mostly original paint aside from the front hood, paired with a Red leatherette interior. It remained with its original owner until 2021 and has since seen thoughtful mechanical recommissioning by the seller, including rebuilt carburetors and distributor, a 12-volt conversion, and replacement of the clutch, shocks, fuel lines, rear main seal, and ignition components. Accompanied by extensive documentation, including its factory order sheet, vintage photos, and a binder full of records, it tells a well-documented story.
Over the past twelve months, 356B Coupe values have averaged $72,700, with a low of $1,700 and a high of $176,000 for a Dark Blue over Red Super 90. But remove that Super 90, and top-of-the-market Coupes have hovered around $80,000. Our Spotlight Car, with mostly original paint, strong documentation, and recent service, pushed well beyond that, selling at a final bid of $130,000. They’re only original once.
