1970 911T Coupe 5-Speed
An entry-level LWB, with a not-so-entry-level engine

The 1970–1971 Porsche 911T served as the entry point to the 911 lineup, positioned below the 911E and 911S. It shared the C-Series chassis updates, including a longer wheelbase and Fuchs alloy wheels, while its 2.2-liter flat-six gained displacement via a wider 84mm bore. Output was 125 horsepower, down from the E’s 155 and the S’s 180, and paired with a four-speed gearbox rather than the five-speed found in the higher trims, although it was an option.
This 1970 911T Coupe was originally finished in Tangerine but now wears a respray in silver. The interior has been modified, featuring aftermarket fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in Black leather and corduroy, along with drilled window cranks, Focal speakers, a Porsche Classic navigation radio, drilled pedals, a MOMO steering wheel, and a 917-style wood shift knob. Power comes from a replacement flat-six with fuel injection, reportedly rebuilt in 2020. Late comments on the auction noted that over $30,000 was spent upgrading the engine to 2.7 liters. A fun, early LWB driver for sure.
Over the past twelve months, 1970–1971 911T models have averaged $61,400, with prices ranging from a low of $17,000 to a high of $125,000. Estimates had our Spotlight car pegged between $60,000 and $110,000, and while it ultimately sold for $62,000, just above the average, it’s likely the result would have been stronger had the upgraded 2.7-liter engine work been clearly detailed earlier in the listing. Good for the buyer!
