1973 911T Coupe 5-Speed
Color brought out the bidders on this '73 911T

The Porsche 911T remained the entry-level 911 for 1972 and 1973, positioned below the 2.4-liter 911E and the more performance-oriented 911S. Early U.S.-spec cars featured the Type 911/51 engine with mechanical fuel injection (MFI), producing 140 horsepower, paired with the stronger 915 gearbox that was newly introduced across the 2.4-liter lineup. Subtle chassis updates included a 3mm longer wheelbase achieved by revising the rear suspension mounting points, improving stability. In January 1973, U.S.-market 911T models transitioned from MFI to Bosch K-Jetronic Continuous Injection System, along with revised camshafts, marking a notable mid-production change.
This 1973 911T Coupe 5-Speed is finished in Leaf Green over Beige leatherette and powered by a 2.4-liter flat-six paired with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. It was optioned from the factory with Group G53, which added the Comfort Equipment Package along with 15″ Fuchs alloys, adjustable seats, a Becker cassette stereo, and a heater. The body shows various paintwork and touchups over the years and recent service in 2025 included fresh tires, new spark plugs, a brake master cylinder, dual batteries, a fuel pressure accumulator, ignition switch, and filters. The car is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, spare parts, and its original owner’s manual.
Over the past twelve months, 2.4-liter 911T Coupes have averaged $72,700, with a low sale at $12,557 and a high of $167,000 for a fully refurbished 1973 example in April of this year. Comparable cars generally fall in the $75,000 to $100,000 range, making this one’s $130,000 result a strong premium. The rare Leaf Green color likely played a big role in driving bidding above comps, as buyers continue to place a high value on unusual and desirable factory finishes.
