1975 911 Carrera Targa 5-Speed
Color and service pushed this 2.7 up a notch

For 1975, the 911 Carrera 2.7 remained Porsche’s top naturally aspirated 911 and was available in both Coupe and Targa body styles. European-market cars retained the legendary 210-horsepower mechanically fuel-injected engine derived from the 1973 Carrera RS, while U.S. cars received Bosch CIS fuel injection and produced 165 horsepower to meet tightening emissions regulations. Although the American cars gave up a significant amount of performance, both versions shared the Carrera’s distinctive styling, flared rear fenders, and sporting character, making them among the most desirable G-body 911s today.
This 1975 911 Carrera Targa 5-Speed was one of just 174 examples imported to the U.S. for the model year and came finished in Peru Red with Gold Carrera script over a Cinnamon leatherette interior. Showing 59,000 miles, it had been thoughtfully upgraded with a lowered suspension, Bilstein dampers, and Turbo tie rods, while the engine was rebuilt in 2018 with Carrera-style chain tensioners, 9.5:1 JE pistons, and WebCams camshafts. More recent work included a fuel system overhaul, CDI replacement, valve adjustment, oil change, and air box repair. A well-serviced example in one of the best color combinations I’ve seen.
Over the past twelve months, only one other 1975 Carrera Targa has crossed the online auction block, a 68,000-mile example finished in Black with Gold Carrera script that sold for $95,000 back in February. Our Spotlight Car, with its outstanding Peru Red over Cinnamon color combination and extensive service history, bettered that result, hammering at a final bid of $120,000.
