1980 911SC Weissach Edition Coupe

Was the money put into the refurbishment of this rare SC worth it?

The 1980 Porsche 911 Weissach Edition, limited to just 400 units for the U.S. market, celebrated the brand's Weissach development center, a hub of Porsche's engineering excellence. Available in distinctive Platinum Metallic or Black Metallic finishes, it featured striking design elements such as a Turbo-look whale tail spoiler and black-centered Fuchs wheels. Inside, the car offered luxurious leather sport seats with color-matched piping and high-quality carpeting. This special edition, built on the 911SC platform, became a collector’s item for its rarity and symbolic connection to Porsche's innovation and racing heritage.

This 1980 Porsche 911SC Weissach Edition Coupe was refurbished around 2025 by Sportscars-Holland and now shows just 61 miles on its reset odometer. Finished in factory Black Metallic over Doric Gray leather with burgundy accents, it rides on 15" Fuchs wheels refinished in Platinum Metallic. Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six equipped with Dilavar studs, Carrera 3.2 chain tensioners, and a Dansk muffler, paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. A whale-tail spoiler, Bilstein rear shocks, and a Blaupunkt radio round out the spec, while refurbishment photos and the original U.S.-spec bumpers and headlights are included with the sale.

It’s tough to pin down a value on such a heavily refurbished example when most of the recent comps have been more original cars. That said, a very original 51,000-mile example sold last August for $80,640. Factor in this car being overseas, and the final bid of €62,500 (about $72,355) feels like all the money.
