1988 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupe
Service history and condition trumped mileage on this G50-equipped 3.2

Launched for the 1984 model year, the Carrera 3.2 replaced the outgoing SC and revived the Carrera name for the first time since 1977. Key updates included integrated front fog lights and, most importantly, the new 3.2-liter flat-six with Bosch Motronic engine management. As the Carrera 3.2 evolved, the earlier 915 gearbox was phased out and replaced by the Getrag G50 transmission beginning in 1987.
This 1988 911 Carrera Coupe was fitted with said G50 transmission and came finished in Grand Prix White over a Marine Blue partial leather interior. Showing 135,000 miles on the odometer, this 3.2 looked to be in very nice condition inside and out and came with a pile of service records along with leakdown tests and paint meter readings in the gallery.
Over the last twelve months, 77 Carrera 3.2 Coupes have crossed the block with a 79.2% sell-through rate and average prices sitting around $81,700. The low for the period sits at $43,000 while the $171,911 high was achieved for a 17,000-mile example sold in August. Our Spotlight Car was a very nice, well-sorted example that was destined to cross that average, which it did, selling at a final bid of $90,500.
