1989 911 Carrera Coupe 25th Anniversary Edition

Records were meant to be... smashed

The 911 25th Anniversary Edition was introduced in 1989 to celebrate a quarter century of the 911. Based on the final year of the 3.2 Carrera, the special edition featured standard front and rear spoilers, a sunroof, and a limited-slip differential. It was offered in Silver Metallic or Satin Black Metallic with color-matched Fuchs wheels and a distinctive Silk Grey leather interior with black piping and a matching center console. A “25th Anniversary Special Edition” badge on the glovebox completed the package. Production totaled roughly 875 cars worldwide, including 300 coupes and 200 cabriolets delivered to the U.S. market.

This 1989 911 Carrera Coupe 25th Anniversary Edition came finished in Silver Metallic over Silk Grey and showed just 11,000 miles. The car was previously owned by comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who purchased it from the original owner in 2019. An excellent example throughout, it is accompanied by extensive documentation including the original window sticker and a large file of service records.

Over the past twelve months, 911 25th Anniversary Edition Coupe values have averaged $97,500, with a low of $78,500 and a high of $115,000 for a 51,000-mile Satin Black Metallic example sold in September of last year. With only three comps during that period, it is a thin market. Our Spotlight Car blew past those numbers, selling at a final bid of $172,000.
