1989 911 DLS by Singer

Despite "high" miles, this Singer DLS performed

The Singer Dynamics & Lightweighting Study (DLS) is the ultimate expression of Rob Dickinson’s vision for the Porsche 911. Developed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering and unveiled in 2018, the DLS reimagines the air-cooled 964 platform with obsessive attention to detail. Every inch is optimized: from the bespoke carbon fiber body with widened fenders to the advanced suspension and aerodynamics honed in the wind tunnel. At its heart is a custom-built 4.0L flat-six, revving to 9,000 rpm and delivering nearly 500 horsepower. Only 75 examples were be produced, making the DLS one of the most exclusive and technically sophisticated interpretations of the 911 ever built.

This 1989 911 DLS by Singer, known as the “Paradise” commission, was completed in July 2021 and has covered just 1,200 miles since. Finished in Albert Blue Pearl with subtle ghosted side stripes and lettering, it’s accented by exposed carbon fiber on the decklid grille and lower trim, polished nickel brightwork, platinum decklid badging, and metallic black cookie-cutter exhaust tips. Inside, the cabin is a showcase of craftsmanship, trimmed in Cascia Black full-aniline leather with blue piping and woven houndstooth inserts. Exposed carbon fiber carries through the door panels, dashboard, tunnel, and pillars, while contrasting blue stitching complements leather-wrapped rear sections and sills.

Over the past twelve months, Singer DLS builds have averaged $2,800,000 with a low of $2,645,000 and a high of $3,000,000. Our Spotlight car stood out as the highest-mileage example to cross the block, and the only one with over 1,000 miles on the odometer. Despite that, it didn’t disappoint, selling right on the average at a final bid of $2,800,000.
