1991 928 GT
The math just didn't math on this quick flip

The 928 GT was introduced in 1989 as a more driver-focused alternative to the luxury-oriented 928 S4. Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 producing ~326 horsepower, it was offered exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission and came standard with a limited-slip differential. The GT featured stiffer suspension tuning, unique 16-inch “Club Sport” wheels, and fewer luxury touches, giving it a more focused feel behind the wheel. Produced only between 1989 and 1991, the 928 GT served as a bridge between the comfortable S4 and the later, more powerful 928 GTS.
This 1991 928 GT came finished in Black over a Black leather interior and showed 83,000 miles. Purchased by the seller in September of last year for $48,000, significant work was carried out under current ownership to the tune of ~$30,000. A pretty penny for just 200 miles of enjoyment in six months.
Over the past twelve months, 928 GT values have averaged $65,000 with a low of $50,928 and a high of $107,928 for a 51,000-mile example finished in Grand Prix White over Gray. Take away that $107k outlier and most top sales land squarely in the mid to upper $50k range. So to put $30,000 in work into a car that recently sold for $48,000 just doesn’t math. No surprise that our Spotlight car failed to sell at a final bid of $46,000. My advice would be to enjoy her now that she’s all sorted.
