1992 911 America Roadster 5-Speed
The third time was the charm for this America Roadster

The 964 America Roadster was introduced for the 1992 model year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original 356 America Roadster. Produced in limited numbers, just 250 examples were built for the U.S. market between 1992 and 1993. The car combined the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six from the Carrera 2, producing 250 horsepower, with the wider fenders, suspension, and braking hardware from the 911 Turbo. In keeping with its more purposeful character, the rear seats were deleted and replaced with a flat luggage shelf featuring storage compartments underneath.
This 1992 911 America Roadster 5-Speed came finished in Midnight Blue over Cashmere Beige leather and showed 70,000 miles, although the CarFax report lists a Not Actual Mileage-branded title issued in July 2003 along with a mileage inconsistency noted in November 2016. Service in 2020 included replacing the spark plugs, battery, and camshaft chain cover seals. More recently, the interior upholstery and seats were refinished in October 2024, a replacement front trunk carpet was installed, and a new blue soft top was fitted in April 2024. The listing included a gallery full of detailed photos along with paint meter readings and service records.
Over the last twelve months America Roadsters have averaged $153,000 with a low of $104,000 and a high of $153,000 for a 16,000-mile example sold in July of last year. Our Spotlight Car has been nagged by its TUM-branded title as it first failed to sell back in October of 2024 for $86,000 followed by another failed attempt in August of last year and a bid of $95,000. But it looks like the third time was the charm, as she finally found a home at a final bid of $109,964.
