1992 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed
A solid final bid, but not enough for those Speedlines

The Porsche 964, produced from 1989 to 1994, marked a major leap forward for the 911 while preserving its iconic silhouette. Representing an estimated 85% redesign over the outgoing Carrera 3.2, the 964 introduced modern features like power steering, ABS brakes, and a completely reworked suspension with coil springs in place of torsion bars. The lineup launched with the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 in 1989, followed by the rear-wheel-drive Carrera 2 in 1990, with all variants offered in coupe, Targa, and Cabriolet forms.
This 1992 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed was originally a Canadian-market car, imported to the U.S. in recent years. Finished in Guards Red over a Black partial leather interior, it showed 200,000 km (~124k mi) on the odometer and came equipped with desirable Sport Seats and 18” Speedline wheels. Despite the mileage, the car presented well with hundreds of detailed photos and an impressive stack of service records included in the gallery.
Over the past twelve months, 964 C2 Coupes have averaged $124,200 with a low of $71,500 and a high of $182,964 for a 25,000-mile example finished in Rubystone Red. Comps put this example between $80,000 and $100,000, which is exactly where bidding ended with a final bid of $91,000. But it looks like the seller wanted more for all those service records and Speedlines. Had to have been close here.
