1993 928 GTS 5-Speed
Another 928 joins the $200k club

The 928 GTS marked the final and most refined evolution of Porsche’s long-running grand tourer. Introduced in late 1991 for the 1992 model year in Europe (and spring 1992 in North America), the GTS featured widened rear fenders, a body-colored rear wing, Cup-style mirrors, a distinctive full-width red tail panel, and 17-inch Cup wheels as standard. Under the hood, a 5.4-liter V8 produced 350 hp, making it the most powerful production 928 ever offered. While it boasted enhanced performance, improved brakes, and a long list of standard features, its six-figure price tag, over $100,000 by 1995, curbed demand. Just 2,904 units were produced before Porsche quietly ended 928 production that year.
This 1993 928 GTS is one of just 54 U.S.-market examples equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transaxle and showed only 20,016 miles. Finished in Black over Grey leather, it’s a time-capsule with extensive documentation from new, including the original window sticker and digitized service records. Recent maintenance within the past 2,000 miles includes a timing belt service, new clutch, brake system refresh, full alignment, and electrical work. With its rare spec, low mileage, and comprehensive upkeep, this GTS presented as an exceptionally preserved and well-maintained example.
Over the last twelve months, manual-equipped 928 GTS models have averaged $142,300, with a low of $72,500 and a high of $269,000 for a 9,000-mile Midnight Blue Metallic example. While our Spotlight car wasn’t gunning for the top slot, it was well-positioned to join the $200k club, and it did just that, selling at a final bid of $202,000, or $212,100 with fees.
