1993 968 Coupe 6-Speed
A couple of dings on the CarFax lead to quite the deal on this 968

Originally slated to be the 944 S3, Porsche’s follow-up to the 944 S2 was intended to be a modest evolution, refining the front and rear styling, particularly the dated rear lamps inherited from the 924. But the redesign quickly outgrew that plan. The engineering team opted to eliminate the pop-up headlights entirely, giving the front end a more modern, cohesive look that no longer aligned with the 944 lineage. With enough updates under the skin to match its new appearance, Porsche made the decision to rebrand the car as the 968. The finished model made its official debut at the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show as a 1992 model, ushering in the final chapter of Porsche’s front-engine, rear-transaxle era.
This 1993 968 Coupe 6-Speed came finished in Black over Classic Gray partial leather and showed 99,000 miles on the odometer. The 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels have been refinished in dark metallic gray, giving it a subtle custom touch. The CarFax reports two incidents, one with moderate damage in 2014 and one with minor damage in 2019. Service history includes a timing belt and water pump replacement in 2009, with accessory belts and spark plugs done in 2019, a new alternator in 2021, an oil change in August 2023, and a binder full of records dating back to 1998.
Over the past twelve months, 968 Coupe sales have averaged $26,034, with a high of $43,500 for a Riviera Blue example sold in March and a low of $9,800. Comps for our Spotlight Car, which had 99k miles, landed squarely in the $20,000–30,000 range, but it sold at a final bid of $15,250, probably affected by the accident history, but still a decent deal for a 6-Speed Coupe with a solid service history.
