1994 968 Clubsport
Mods may not be for everyone, but if the price is right...

Introduced for the 1993 model year, the 968 Clubsport was a pared-down, track-focused version of the standard 968 coupe. Built with weekend racers in mind, the Clubsport shed weight by eliminating power accessories, rear seats, sound insulation, and even basic amenities like air conditioning and power windows. Mechanically, the CS retained the 3.0-liter inline-four with VarioCam producing 237 horsepower, but benefited from stiffer suspension, larger brakes, and lightweight 17-inch wheels. Though it shared the same basic silhouette as the regular 968, the Clubsport distinguished itself with subtle badging and a more aggressive stance. It was never officially sold in the U.S. and remains one of the most focused front-engine Porsches of its era.
This 1994 968 Clubsport is originally a Swiss-market example finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a Black interior and came optioned with Porsche’s Luxe Package, which basically added in a bunch of options that were originally removed for weight savings such as power windows and a sunroof. This 58,000-mile example has also been modified with a body kit, 18” Speedline wheels, harness bar, aftermarket stereo, and some light engine upgrades. Cosmetically, the car showed a few imperfections including a crack in one of the lower side skirts, aging clearcoat on the wheels, and out-dated tires showing a bit of dry rot.
If you just look at the mileage, comps would have put this one in the $50-60,000 range. But the aftermarket body kit, along with other modifications and imperfections were bound to get this one in the end. When all was said and done, our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $41,250. About right for what was presented here, but address those issues, and the new owner will have one fun ride for the money.
