1995 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed

Bidders paid up for subtle, yet tasteful mods

Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1993, the 993 Carrera represented a significant evolution over the 964, with roughly 80% of its components redesigned. It introduced a new multi-link rear suspension mounted to a light-alloy subframe, dramatically improving stability, ride quality, and overall handling. Power came from a revised 3.6-liter flat-six producing 272 horsepower initially, paired with smoother engine management and improved drivability. Designed by Tony Hatter, the 993 also featured a more modern, integrated body with improved aerodynamics, while hydraulic lifters reduced maintenance requirements.

This 1995 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed was a RoW-spec Japanese market example finished in Iris Blue Metallic over a Black interior and showed 97,300 km (~60k miles). I loved the subtle modifications on this one. It featured 17-inch Cup 2 wheels, red-painted brake calipers, an RS-style front spoiler, aftermarket side skirts, Bilstein B6 dampers, and Eibach lowering springs. Just enough to make you take notice. Recently imported from Japan, it looked to be in nice condition but lacked recent service with the seller noting minor leaks at the valve covers and power steering pump.

Over the past twelve months, 993 Carrera Coupe values have averaged $99,700, with a low of $52,493 and a high of $275,000 for a very rare X51 and X79-equipped example. Mileage comps put our Spotlight Car in the $85,000–$125,000 range. Despite the noted minor leaks, the spec and those subtle modifications helped carry it to the top of that range, selling at a final bid of $120,000.
