1995 911 Carrera RS

This one bested comps thanks to a solid mechanical history

The 1995–1996 911 Carrera RS 3.8 was the ultimate lightweight special of the 993 generation, developed as a homologation model for the RSR 3.8’s entry into BPR GT3 and GT4 racing. Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six producing 300 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, it was sharper and more track-focused than any other roadgoing 993. Distinguishing features included a prominent fixed rear wing, small front aero flaps, and three-piece 18-inch wheels, giving it an unmistakably aggressive presence. Street-legal in Europe and other markets but never officially offered in the U.S., the Carrera RS remains one of the rarest and most coveted 993 variants, blending motorsport pedigree with road use.

This 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is a well-documented example showing 82k km (~51k mi) and comes finished in Black on Black. The Sport Seats are trimmed in Black leather with what looks like grey-ish perforated inserts, complemented by Yellow seatbelts, door pull straps, and Carrera RS script embroidered on the rear bulkhead carpeting. Imported to the U.S. in 2023, the car carries a detailed history, including a $43,000 mechanical service performed by Porsche in Stuttgart in 2021. The seller notes prior paintwork, with supporting paint-meter readings included in the gallery. Offered with a stamped service booklet, a thick binder of service records, owner’s manuals, and factory documentation, this Carrera RS presents as a well-maintained and nicely configured example.

Over the last twelve months we’ve seen 10 993 Carrera RS come to market with 8 finding homes at an average price of $394,800. During that time we’ve seen a low of $246,705 and a high of $830,000 for an example in Riviera Blue with the Clubsport Aerokit. While there weren’t many mileage comps to go by, $300-350,000 seemed to be where cars above 45k have landed. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $368,888 thanks to its solid history.
