1996 911 Carrera Targa 6-Speed
993 Targas have been on a tear, what happened here?

Porsche reimagined the Targa for the 993 generation with a sliding glass roof system that replaced the earlier lift-out panel. Developed and built by Webasto, the design used two large glass sections, with the rear fixed to the body and the forward panel retracting beneath it at the press of a button. Three electric motors powered the mechanism, and an interior sunshade provided additional control over light and airflow. From the side, the 993 Targa had its own distinct roofline and quarter window treatment, visually setting it apart from the coupe.
This 1996 911 Carrera Targa 6-Speed was finished in Black Metallic over Classic Grey leather and showed 54,000 miles. It came modified with Bilstein coilovers, Flat6 Illumination LED headlights, a Motorsound airbox, and a Fister muffler. Recent mechanical work included control arm bushings, tie rods, and a steering rack in 2024, along with new tires, fresh drive belts and tensioner in 2023, and new engine mounts in 2024. It did, however, carry three accidents on the CarFax, including one listed as moderate damage in 2021.
Over the last few years, the 993 market has been on a steady climb, moving from average prices near $70,000 three years ago to just under $120,000 today. Our Spotlight car rode that momentum, selling for more than it was previously bid back in 2022, but it still landed below today’s mileage comps due to the three accidents on record. It finished at a final bid of $86,961.
