1996 911 Turbo

Arena Red not only Kills bugs fast, it kills comps fast, too

The 993 Turbo, introduced in 1995, marked the final chapter of Porsche’s air-cooled era with a bang. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six producing 402 horsepower, it utilized dual K16 turbochargers and all-wheel drive to deliver stunning performance with composure. It stood apart visually with widened rear fenders, restyled bumpers, and a fixed “whale tail” spoiler that concealed its intercoolers. A technological leap and a design icon, the 993 Turbo remains one of the most revered 911s ever built.

This 1996 911 Turbo came finished in “Kills Bugs Fast” Arena Red Metallic over a Cashmere Beige interior and showed just 30,000 miles on the odometer. It looked to be in excellent condition as evidenced by hundreds of detailed photos in the gallery including paint meter readings and a pile of service records. Low mileage, lots of documentation, and the iconic color meant this was the one to have.

Over the last twelve months, 993 Turbos have averaged $246,664 with a low of $151,000 and a high of $369,000 for a 12,000-mile example sold earlier this month. Mileage comps put this one in the $245-275,000 range, but none of them were in Arena Red or presented like our Spotlight car. It sold at a final bid of $340,000, one of only two examples to cross the $300k mark at an online auction this year. Strong money, and a new record for the milage. But find another.
