1997 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 6-Speed X51
This 993 had all the right options, including the uber-rare X51 package

The 993 X51, also known as the Werksleistungssteigerung (WLS) package, was a rare factory performance upgrade first offered in 1995. It increased displacement to 3.8 liters with larger pistons and cylinders, paired with revised camshafts, bringing output to around 300 hp. Available only in very limited numbers, the package gave the already capable 993 Carrera a meaningful boost in power and exclusivity. With fewer than 1% of all 993s believed to have been ordered with X51, it remains one of the most desirable and collectible factory options from the air-cooled era.
This 1997 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 6-Speed is one of the rare X51-equipped examples and came finished in Paint-to-Sample Riviera Blue, one of Porsche’s best colors. Showing 50,634 kilometers (about 31,000 miles), it also featured a Leather-to-Sample Provence Blue interior along with options like Extended Leather, a 92-liter fuel tank, and Stainless Exhaust Pipes.
Comps? Ha. The highest price paid for a 993 C4 Cabriolet in the past twelve months was $158,000 for a 12,000-mile example finished in Guards Red over Cashmere. But we all knew this one was going to sail past that number, and sail it did, selling for a final bid of $216,750. That makes it the second highest of all time, just behind another X51 with slightly lower miles that sold back in 2023 for $242,999. Amazing sale, amazing car.
