1997 911 Carrera 4S 6-Speed
The rarest of the rare brought out the bids

Introduced in 1995, the 993-generation Carrera 4S blended the best of both worlds, pairing the wide Turbo bodywork with the all-wheel-drive platform of the standard C4. It borrowed heavily from its turbocharged sibling, including larger brakes, upgraded suspension, and various interior enhancements, but ditched the iconic rear wing for a more understated presence, unless the Aerokit was optioned. One particularly rare option was X79, which added rear-fender air inlets reminiscent of the 959 and Turbo S, giving the 4S even more visual punch. The result was a uniquely capable and muscular-looking 911 that’s become a modern classic in its own right.
This 1997 911 Carrera 4S 6-Speed is one of those rare examples optioned with both the Aerokit and X79 rear-fender air inlets. A Japanese-market car, it’s finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Midnight Blue leather interior and shows just 35,000 km (~22k mi) on the clock. This was a prime example, backed by a gallery full of detailed photos, paint meter readings, and an impressive stack of service records. Everything you’d want in a C4S, and then some.
Over the last twelve months, 993 Carrera 4S models have averaged $143,000, with a low of $76,500 and a high of $200,000 for a 34,000-mile example with a sunroof delete. With lower mileage, even rarer options, and an excellent color combination, our Spotlight car was poised to beat that high, and it did, selling at a final bid of $247,000.
