2003 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed
A new high thanks to a binder full of history

The 996.2 Carrera debuted in 2001 for the 2002 model year, bringing a series of meaningful refinements over the earlier 996.1. Most noticeably, Porsche ditched the controversial amber “fried egg” headlights in favor of a cleaner design shared with the Turbo. Under the rear decklid, displacement grew from 3.4 to 3.6 liters, increasing output to 320 horsepower. The facelift also brought revised bumpers, updated interior materials, improved electronics, and subtle chassis refinements, helping make the 996.2 feel like a more polished and mature evolution of the first water-cooled 911.
This 2003 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed came finished in Guards Red over Black leather and showed 23,000 miles. Nicely optioned with Full Leather, 18” Carrera wheels, Porsche Stability Management, BOSE, and more. It also came with a binder full of service history in the gallery, most notably, the IMS bearing was replaced in 2019 with an LN Engineering kit. Light modifications included an aftermarket intake and exhaust, with the factory exhaust included in the sale.
Over the past twelve months, 996.2 Carrera Coupe values have averaged $29,600, with a low of $15,996 and a high of $51,000 for a 28,000-mile Carrara White example sold back in March. With even lower mileage, the twelve-month high was always in jeopardy. Thanks in part to that binder full of records, our Spotlight Car toppled it, selling at a final bid of $63,000.
