2003 Boxster 5-Speed
A one-owner 986(.2) is the one to have

The 2003 Boxster marked the mid-cycle update of the 986 platform, often referred to as the 986.2, and introduced several meaningful improvements. Most notably, it replaced the plastic rear window with a smaller, heated glass unit integrated into a new four-bow convertible top, adding both durability and a factory defroster. The facelift also brought revised front and rear bumpers, updated lighting, suspension refinements, and the addition of a glovebox, while the base model continued with a 2.7-liter flat-six now producing 225 horsepower and the Boxster S offered a 3.2-liter with 258 horsepower. Though still powered by the M96 engine, the later cars addressed some early issues, even if IMS concerns remained part of the ownership conversation.
This 2003 Boxster 5-Speed was a one-owner example finished in Guards Red with a Black soft top over a Black interior and showed 104,400 miles on the odometer. It was accompanied by its original window sticker, keys, and books, and carried a clean CarFax report. However, only two service records were reflected on the report, none were shown in the gallery, and the car sat on tires with 2016 date codes.
Over the past twelve months, 986 Boxster values have averaged $12,900, with a low of $4,100 and a high of $25,750. Examples with around 100,000 miles typically trade between just under $10,000 and roughly $15,000, with 2003–2004 cars tending toward the upper end of that range. While the lack of documented service history and dated tires likely tempered enthusiasm, its single-owner provenance helped, and it ultimately sold at a final bid of $11,601.
