2004 911 40th Anniversary Edition 6-Speed

Even with an accident, this 40th set a new 12-month high thanks to some low, low miles

Introduced in late 2003, the 911 Carrera 40th Anniversary Edition celebrated “40 Fast Years” of the 911 with just 1,963 examples built. Based on the narrow-body Carrera, it came standard with the coveted X51 Powerkit, raising output to 345 horsepower, along with a limited-slip differential and M030 sport suspension. Finished exclusively in GT Silver Metallic over a Natural Grey full-leather interior, the Anniversary model also featured polished 18″ Carrera II lightweight wheels, a Turbo-style front bumper with painted air inlets, and unique aluminum trim accents inside. Each car wore a special “40 Jahre 911” badge, marking it as one of the most distinctive 996 variants produced.

This 2004 911 40th Anniversary Edition 6-Speed was finished in GT Silver Metallic over Gray Natural Leather and showed just 13,000 miles. It remained with its original California owner until 2022, when it was purchased by the seller. An LN Engineering single-row IMS bearing kit was installed in 2017, and the battery was replaced under current ownership. The Carfax notes an incident in 2017, and the gallery included a small set of service records and photos.

Over the past twelve months, 40th Anniversary 911s have averaged $38,500, with a low of $27,935 and a high of $45,250 for a 53,000-mile example sold in September. Our Spotlight car, with just 13,000 miles and a prior sale price of $54,611 in 2022, beat all recent comps with a strong final bid of $60,500. Had this had a bit more documentation and a clean CarFax, more might have been in the cards.
