2004 911 40th Anniversary Edition 6-Speed
Almost a new high for the lowest mileage example we've seen thus far

The 2004 911 40th Anniversary Edition was introduced in late 2003 to celebrate four decades of the 911. Though 1,963 units were planned to honor the 1963 debut year, actual production is believed to have totaled roughly 1,550 to 1,600 cars. Based on the 996 Carrera, it came standard with the X51 power kit increasing output to 345 horsepower, along with M030 sport suspension and a limited-slip differential. All examples were finished in exclusive GT Silver Metallic over Natural Grey leather, wore polished 18-inch Carrera II wheels, and featured a narrow-body appearance with Turbo-style front air intakes and “911” badging on the engine lid in place of “Carrera.”
This 2004 911 40th Anniversary Edition 6-Speed was numbered #585 and came finished in the customary GT Silver Metallic over Natural Grey Full Leather. Showing just 13,336 miles, it came with a comprehensive service history that included an IMS bearing replacement. It is also accompanied by its original matching luggage set, rounding out a well-preserved and complete example of the special edition.
Over the past twelve months, 911 40th Anniversary Edition values have averaged $44,100, with a low of $27,935 and a high of $70,000 for a 30,000-mile example sold in December of last year. With significantly lower mileage and a clean CarFax (unlike the current high), our Spotlight Car looked like the one to set a new high. Instead, it sold at a final bid of $63,250. Well bought, and it will now sit alongside the new owner’s other 40th, #221. Very jealous.
