2004 911 Turbo Cabriolet X50
Low mileage and great options helped this 996 bring the bids

The X50 Power Kit first appeared on the 1996 993 Turbo as a factory option, raising output to 430 horsepower through revised engine management and additional cooling. By 1998, the updated XLC specification incorporated larger turbochargers and further refinements, pushing output to 450 horsepower. The option became more widely recognized during the 996 Turbo era, where, from 2002 onward, the X50 package increased power from roughly 415 to 444 horsepower with larger K24 turbochargers, upgraded intercoolers, revised ECU mapping, and a quad-pipe exhaust, effectively bringing Turbo performance closer to GT2 territory while retaining the Turbo’s everyday drivability and all-wheel-drive usability.
This 2004 911 Turbo Cabriolet came finished in Atlas Grey Metallic over Natural Grey leather and showed 23,000 miles. It was well optioned from the factory with the X50 Turbo Power Kit, PCCB Brakes, heated Sport Seats, and several Exclusive touches including Yellow contrast stitching, body-color seatbacks, and Yellow seatbelts. Modifications included a Fabspeed exhaust, 18-inch SSR GT3 multi-piece wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and intake trim, and an upgraded sound system. Recent service included replacement of the mass air flow sensor in 2022, along with new spark plugs and oxygen sensors in July 2025. Overall, a great-looking Turbo with a solid list of options and mods.
Over the past twelve months, 996 Turbo Cabriolet prices have averaged $55,500, with a low of $43,000 and a high of $72,500 for a 15,000-mile X50-equipped 6-Speed example. Although our Spotlight Car was fitted with a Tiptronic transmission, expectations still had it landing north of $50,000, perhaps even cresting $60,000. It ultimately sold for $65,000, a strong result given the transmission and current comps.
