2004 Boxster S 550 Anniversary Edition 6-Speed

A bit of worked turned this Boxster S into quite a nice little profit

The Boxster S 550 Spyder Anniversary Edition was introduced in 2004 to mark the final year of the 986-generation Boxster and to honor the legendary 550 Spyder of 1953. Limited to 1,953 units worldwide, with just 500 reserved for the U.S. market, each example was finished in GT Silver Metallic over either Cocoa or Grey Natural leather. Distinguishing features included a numbered plaque on the center console, a sport exhaust, M030 sport suspension, BOSE audio, and unique two-tone 18-inch Carrera wheels with 5mm spacers.

This 2004 Boxster S 550 Spyder Anniversary Edition 6-Speed is #952 of just 1,953 built and comes finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Cocoa Brown interior. Showing 50k miles, it has been well cared for under current ownership, with notable work including installation of a PCCM Plus infotainment unit, fresh 18″ Carrera wheels, and dent repairs. Mechanical updates have also been addressed, with the IMS bearing, clutch, top, headliner, and more all replaced, making it a nicely sorted example of this limited-production anniversary model.

Over the past twelve months, Boxster S 550 Spyder Anniversary Editions have averaged $22,900, with a low of $15,501 and a high of $27,000 for an 18k-mile example with the Grey Natural interior. With 50k miles, this car wasn’t expected to match that high, but the recent work since its last $17,000 sale in early 2024, combined with the more desirable Cocoa interior, helped push it to the very top of the range. It hammered at a final bid of $27,000, setting a new benchmark for higher-mileage examples.
