2005 911 Turbo S Cabriolet 6-Speed

Crazy money for an "ok" Turbo S Cab.

The 996 Turbo S was introduced toward the end of the 996 production run as the ultimate expression of the Turbo lineup, offered in both Coupe and Cabriolet form. It came standard with the X50 power kit, raising output from the 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six to 450 horsepower, along with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes and a thicker steering wheel. Often described as a “gentlemen’s express,” the Turbo S blended serious speed and capability with refinement and everyday usability, making it one of the most well-rounded high-performance 911s of its era.

This 2005 911 Turbo S Cabriolet 6-Speed was finished in Speed Yellow over a Metropol Blue leather interior and showed 38,000 miles. It carried an original MSRP of $148,885 and was presented with extensive photo documentation and service history reflected on the CarFax. A minor damage entry from August 2019 was noted, with the front bumper cover repainted ahead of the sale and paint meter readings provided, rounding out what remained a nicely optioned and well-presented example.

🤯 $158,500. This was certainly an outlier sale as the previous twelve-month high for a 996 Turbo S Cab. was $85,000 and the only other bids to cross the $100k mark over the last few years have been much lower mileage examples. There was lots of chatter in the comments about this being a “one-of-one,” and I mean sure, it might have been the only one optioned JUST like this, but there wasn’t anything super-special about the boxes ticked. At the end of the day, two people just had to have it.
