2005 911 Turbo S Coupe 6-Speed
Big money doesn't even explain the price paid for this 222-mile 996

The 996 Turbo S was a higher-spec, more fully equipped version of the standard 996 Turbo, bringing several key performance upgrades as standard. Most notably, it included the X50 power kit, increasing output from 415 to ~444 horsepower through larger turbos and revised engine management. It also came equipped with PCCB brakes, along with unique trim and badging to distinguish it from the standard Turbo. While the regular 996 Turbo offered strong performance out of the box, the Turbo S delivered a more complete package with added power and higher-end hardware straight from the factory.
This 2005 911 Turbo S Coupe 6-Speed came finished in Slate Grey Metallic over Black Full Leather and showed just 222 miles. An absolutely stunning, as-new example, it presented about as well as one possibly could, right down to a spotless undercarriage among the hundreds of detailed pics in the gallery.
Over the past twelve months, 996 Turbo S Coupe values have averaged $85,700, with a low of $70,496 and a high of $119,000 for a 19,000-mile example sold last June. This was always going to be big money, the only question was how big. I imagined somewhere around $200,000, but I clearly didn’t imagine big enough, as it sold for a staggering $409,996.
