2006 Boxster S 6-Speed

New headlights, who this?

Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2004, the second-generation Porsche Boxster shared many components with its 997-generation 911 sibling but featured a departure in headlight design, giving the Boxster its own distinct front end. It was a welcome change, as the similarities between the 986 Boxster and the 996 911 had irked some Porsche enthusiasts.

This 2006 Boxster S 6-Speed came finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Sand Beige leather interior and showed 70,000 miles on the odometer. It featured a Metropol Blue soft top, Porsche Active Suspension Management, BOSE, and more, with an original MSRP of $64,000. The car appeared to be in nice condition, came with a stack of service records, but did show a “minor” incident on the CarFax. Overall, a solid example of Porsche’s second swing at the Boxster.

Over the past twelve months, 987 Boxster S models have averaged $23,700, with a low of $10,200 and a high of $42,000 for a rare Boxster S Design Edition 2. Cars with similar mileage have typically landed in the $15,000 to $25,000 range, and even with the CarFax incident, our Spotlight car sold toward the top end of that range, hammering at a final bid of $23,250.
