2008 911 GT2

The 991.1 GT2 is finally getting the love it deserves

When it launched, the 997.1 GT2 stood at the top of the Porsche performance pyramid. Built on the bones of the 997 Turbo, it dialed up the power, cut the weight, and sent all 530 horsepower exclusively to the rear wheels. The 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six was paired with a six-speed manual only, and thanks to revised turbos and a titanium exhaust, torque swelled to a massive 505 lb-ft. Aerodynamic tweaks, PASM suspension, and carbon ceramic brakes completed the package, making this the fastest, most powerful 911 Porsche had ever offered to the public at the time.

This 2008 911 GT2 is one of just 194 U.S.-market examples delivered for the model year and shows only 1,400 miles from new. Finished in Guards Red over a Black leather and Alcantara interior, it was optioned with the Carbon Interior and Sport Chrono packages, PCCB brakes, and red deviated stitching. Service in 2019 addressed open recalls, spark plugs, a coolant flush, while a fresh oil change and new plugs were performed in preparation for the sale. An excellent example that checks all boxes for rarity, spec, and mileage.

Over the past twelve months, 997.1 GT2s have averaged $249,999 with a low of $225,000 and a high of $263,000 for a 28,000-mile Black example. But to find another sub-2,000-mile comp, we have to rewind to 2022, when a White car with just 960 miles failed to sell at $402,911. The market has been climbing ever since, but this one didn’t just inch ahead, it leapt. Selling at a final bid of $495,000, it now stands as the new five-year high for the model.
