2011 GT3 RS 4.0
The market stays consistent after an absence of cars crossing the block

While Saturday’s 997.1 Turbo Spotlight Car was the last turbocharged Mezger-engined 911 produced, the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 was the final hurrah for the engine. Limited to just 600 units, it featured the largest-displacement Mezger ever fitted to a road car, a 4.0-liter flat-six producing 493 horsepower. It also brought a host of weight-saving measures including carbon fiber body panels, a stripped interior, and RS-specific chassis tuning, making it one of the most focused driver’s cars Porsche has ever built. Widely regarded as the pinnacle of the analog GT3 era, it marked the end of a truly special chapter.
This 2011 911 GT3 RS 4.0 came finished in Carrara White over Black leather with Red Alcantara inserts and showed 5,000 miles. A nicely optioned example, it featured wheels painted in Black, Front Axle Lift, Sound Package Plus, and Sport Chrono. It received an extensive service in March 2026 at Porsche North Houston and was offered with its window sticker, books, and a clean CarFax.
Over the past twelve months, GT3 RS 4.0 values have averaged $1,023,972, with a low of $810,000 and a high of $1,260,000 for an 842-mile example finished in the rarer shade of Black. But those numbers are nearly eight months old, as we haven’t seen one cross the block since August. Given the strong move 4.0s made early last year and the recent surge in special Porsches this spring, I expected another jump in price. Instead, our Spotlight Car sold at a final bid of $900,000, $995,000 with fees, right where I would have had it a year ago.
