2012 Cayman R 6-Speed
If only she were Peridot

The 2012 Cayman R debuted at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show as a lighter, more powerful, and more track-focused evolution of the Cayman S. Weight was reduced by 121 pounds through the use of aluminum doors, carbon-backed seats, lightweight wheels, and the deletion of standard equipment such as the radio and air conditioning. Power came from a tuned 3.4-liter flat-six producing 330 horsepower, ten more than the Cayman S, aided by a freer-flowing exhaust. The model also marked the debut of Porsche’s Peridot Metallic, the color worn by the launch car in Los Angeles.
This 2012 Cayman R 6-Speed was finished in Black with Silver Porsche script over a Black standard leather interior accented by Red stitching and Red seat belts, and showed just 7,000 miles. It was well-optioned with Bi-Xenon headlights, heated seats, air conditioning added back in, Sport Chrono Package, and the Sport Exhaust. The car appeared to be in nice condition and was supported by a clean CarFax and service records shown in the gallery.
Over the past twelve months, Cayman R values have averaged $71,200, with a low of $56,000 and a high of $93,500 set by a 1,900-mile example finished in White. With roughly 5,000 more miles than that top sale, our Spotlight car still delivered a strong result, selling at a final bid of $92,000. I can’t help but wonder where it might have landed had it been finished in Peridot.
