2015 918 Spyder

A new all-time high for this one-off Spyder

The 918 Spyder was first shown as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010, with the production version debuting in September 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show as Porsche’s follow-up to the Carrera GT and its entry into the hybrid hypercar era. Power came from a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 producing 608 horsepower, supplemented by two electric motors adding a combined 279 horsepower, for a total system output of 887 horsepower. Its carbon fiber reinforced plastic body featured a two-piece Targa roof and distinctive top-exit exhausts positioned just behind the cockpit, combining advanced technology with striking design.

This 2015 918 Spyder was the only example produced in Paint-to-Sample Pure Orange over a Black interior with Color-to-Sample Pure Orange piping in place of the usual Green accents. Showing just 845 miles, options included the Weissach Package, Front Axle Lift, and Special Wishes tailoring for an original MSRP of $964,875.

Over the past twelve months, 918 Spyders have averaged $2.7m, with a low of $2,301,000 and a high of $3,112,000 for a 1,600-mile Paint-to-Sample Onyx White example. With our Spotlight car showing just 845 miles and finished in a one-off color, a new high felt inevitable given recent momentum. Still, the result was a shock, as it hammered at $5.5m, $6,050,000 including buyer’s fee, setting not just a new twelve-month high, but a new all-time record.
