2016 911 R
All the right options and low miles "should" have produced a new high

The 2016 911 R debuted at the Geneva Motor Show and immediately became one of the most talked-about modern 911s as it featured a 6-speed manual transmission, something lacking in the GT3 of that era. Limited to just 991 units, it combined the 500-horsepower 4.0-liter engine from the GT3 RS and a more understated, wingless body. Weight-saving measures including carbon fiber panels and magnesium roof helped make it one of the lightest 991s produced. More than anything, the 911 R represented a return to a purer, driver-first formula, prioritizing engagement over outright lap times.
This 2016 911 R, number 785 of 991 produced, was finished in White with Green stripes over a Black leather interior with Pepita inserts and GT Silver stitching. Showing just 304 miles, it was very well optioned with Front Axle Lift, Sport Chrono, and the must-have Single-Mass Flywheel with Reinforced Clutch, helping push the original MSRP to $217,450. Overall, a very nice example with all the right options.
Over the past twelve months, 911 R values have averaged $587,900, with a low of $480,000 and a high of $715,000 for a 3,900-mile example wearing the “BP World Record” livery. While our Spotlight Car lacked the livery, it more than made up for it with the miles and options, giving it a strong shot at setting a new high. While the final bid of $744,000 topped the high, it looks like it wasn’t enough as the car went unsold.

TOGETHER WITH PORSCHE SALT LAKE CITY
There are Porsche Centers, and then there are PORSCHE CENTERS. The newly opened Porsche Salt Lake City is firmly the latter. Established in 1958, Porsche Salt Lake City is one of the oldest Porsche centers in the United States, now paired with one of the most advanced facilities in the network.
The new space spans over 100,000 square feet, with every detail considered. A 30-bay service center anchors the facility, featuring extra-wide bays, in-ground lifts, and custom Italian DEA toolboxes, a first for a Porsche Center. Throughout the building, Apple-powered workstations with dual Mac Studio monitors allow seamless plug-and-play capability for Brand Ambassadors. Below, a massive parking structure houses up to 100 vehicles and features a custom, non-traditional photo booth that reflects the scale and intent behind the entire operation.
A huge congratulations to Gavin and his team on what is quickly becoming a true destination for those passionate about the brand. If you find yourself near Salt Lake City, it’s well worth the visit.
