2016 Cayman GT4
Was this 981 GT4 result a look at things to come for GT4 pricing?

When Porsche unveiled the Cayman GT4 in 2015, it marked the first time the brand’s Motorsport division in Weissach had been let loose on the mid-engine platform—and they delivered a car that exceeded all expectations. Powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six derived from the 911 Carrera S and paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, the GT4 produced 385 horsepower and featured dynamic gearbox mounts for enhanced drivability. Its chassis, lowered by 30mm, incorporated suspension components and brakes borrowed from the 911 GT3, while the aggressive aerodynamics—including a prominent rear wing—signaled its track-ready intentions.
This 2016 Cayman GT4 came finished in Racing Yellow over a Black leather interior with Houndstooth-style inserts and showed 11,000 miles on the odometer. It was well-optioned from the factory with PCCB brakes, Carbon Buckets, Yellow stitching and seat belts, plus extra carbon fiber and leather, bringing the original MSRP to $109,890. The car looked to be in excellent condition and came with a full paper trail including a DME report, service records, and the removed seat inserts. A strong, documented example of a properly spec’d GT4.
Over the past twelve months, 981 GT4s have averaged $94,500 with a low of $73,782 and a high of $145,600 for a modified example that sold last September. Comps put our Spotlight car in the $85,000–$100,000 range, but condition helped it clear the six-figure mark, hammering at a final bid of $102,000. A result this one definitely deserved.
