2023 911 Sport Classic

A previous high comes tumbling down

Introduced as the second model in Porsche’s Heritage Design strategy, the 2023 911 Sport Classic brought retro flair to the 992 generation. Based on the 911 Turbo S, it features widebody proportions, center-lock wheels, and the full suite of Turbo performance tech, but swaps the all-wheel drive and PDK for a rear-wheel-drive, 7-speed manual layout. With 543 horsepower from a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six, it’s the most powerful manual-transmission 911 Porsche has ever built. Limited to just 1,250 examples globally, the Sport Classic nods to the 1973 Carrera RS with its ducktail spoiler, Pepita cloth interior, and gold badging, while Exclusive Manufaktur touches and a clean Turbo-less rear intake design make it one of the most distinctive modern 911s.

This 2023 911 Sport Classic is number 692 of the 1,250 built and shows just 921 miles. Finished in stunning paint-to-sample Ruby Star over a Black leather and Pepita Heritage Design interior, it’s one of the boldest specs I’ve seen. Included in the sale are the matching Ruby Star keys, original window sticker, books, and service records.

Over the past twelve months, sales of the 992 Sport Classic have ranged from $425,000 to $582,000, with the average sitting just under $500K. That high mark of $582K was actually set by this very Ruby Star car back in September, though the buyer failed to follow through. This time around, it came back to market and hammered at $552,000. Like I said above, this is certainly one of the boldest specs I’ve seen, and typically, but I think it might have been too bold for the Sport Classic crowd, as it sold just above low comps.
