2024 911 GT3 R Rennsport

More money than the last example to cross the block. Was it enough?

Unveiled at Rennsport Reunion VII in 2023, the 911 GT3 R rennsport pushes Porsche’s track car engineering into untamed territory. Based on the 992-generation GT3 R, it ditches FIA rulebooks in favor of pure performance, delivering 611 hp from a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter flat-six that screams to 9,400 rpm. Every body panel is unique, with standout features like digital mirrors, a full-width LED rear strip, and a towering wing inspired by the Martini Racing 935s. Inside, it’s a purpose-built single-seater, stripped to essentials and focused solely on the driver. With just 77 built, it’s one of Porsche’s most extreme and exclusive creations to date.

This 2024 911 GT3 R Rennsport, number 7 of just 77 produced, featured carbon-fiber-composite bodywork finished in the striking red, white, and blue Rennsport Reunion Design livery and showed just 41 kilometers (~25 miles). I actually had the opportunity to check this one out in person at Porsche Nashua, and the thing is absolutely wild. The details, the stance, the sheer presence of it, an amazing piece of machinery.

This is just the second GT3 R Rennsport to cross the block, online or in person. The first, a 33-kilometer example finished in exposed carbon fiber, sold for $1,201,000 back in October. Our Spotlight Car was bid to $1,350,000 but failed to sell. I know there’s only one real comp, but I’m surprised this one didn’t hammer sold.
