To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 911, Porsche looked to the special race variant of the 1969 911S—the 911 ST—for inspiration in crafting its latest high-performance special. Taking a page from the 911 R’s playbook, Porsche combined the 911 GT3 RS powertrain with the wingless body of the GT3 Touring, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Limited to just 1,963 units (a nod to the year the 911 debuted), the S/T has quickly become the 911 of the moment—a fact underscored by the price achieved by today’s Spotlight car.
This 2024 911 S/T came finished in Shore Blue over a Classic Cognac leather interior and showed just 23 delivery miles on the odometer. Options included Porsche’s Heritage Design Package, Front Axle Lift, LED-Matrix headlights, and more, bringing the original MSRP to $331,420. With such low mileage, there’s little to note in terms of condition—just a pristine example of Porsche at its best.
Surprisingly, 911 S/Ts have been relatively quiet at auction, with only two examples crossing the block in the U.S. so far. The first—a Paint-to-Sample Auratium Green car—failed to sell at a final bid of $676,000 back in January. The second—a Paint-to-Sample X Blue example with 67 miles—sold for $738,888 in May. Given that both were PTS cars and our Spotlight car was finished in the standard launch spec, I didn’t expect this one to set a new high. But bidders had other ideas, with this S/T selling at a final bid of $805,992. Makes you wonder what a PTS car would bring now, doesn’t it?
